In memory of Dr. Ewa Markiewicz

 Dr. Ewa Markiewicz, an outstanding scientist,
valued for his diligence, knowledge, and exceptional modesty, 
a longtime employee of the Ferroelectric Department
of the Institute of Molecular Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences,
the Scientific Council of the Institute, 
the  ISyDMA'7 Organizing Committee,
and the Publishing Committee member,
passed away on July 30, 2022, at the age of 66.

I am pleased to welcome you to the Seventh International Symposium on Dielectric Materials and Applications ISyDMA’7 conference, which for the first time will be held in Poznań, Poland.

Previous, the highly successful editions of ISyDMA were held in Kenitra and Rabat (Morocco 2016), Bucharest (Romania 2017), Beni-Mellal (Morocco 2018), Amman (Jordan 2019), Marrakesh (Morocco 2020), Calais (France 2021).

The goal of the ISyDMA’7 Symposium is to provide a platform for researchers and scientists from all over the world to exchange ideas and hold wide-ranging discussions on recent developments in dielectric materials and their innovative applications. It consists of thematic and tutorial sessions covering several hot topics in dielectric materials advances. The conference will include plenary lectures, invited lectures, oral and poster contributions.

It is addressed to materials scientists, physicists, chemists, and electrical engineers engaged in basic and applied research or technical investigations on such materials. We hope that the meeting will stimulate better contacts between Ph.D. students, novices, and experienced scientists from various international centers and initiate new international and multilateral cooperation.

The Organizing Committee will do everything in its power to make the program as attractive as possible. We look forward to numerous presentations and meetings with their authors!

We will do everything we can to make your stay in Poznań as pleasant as possible.

The ISyDMA’7 meeting is organized by the Institute of Molecular Physics Polish Academy of Sciences in cooperation with Adam Mickiewicz University and its Foundation. We are happy to host the ISyDMA’7 conference in Poznań – an academic city with solid research groups working on the material sciences.

Poznań is also the place where Poland was born over a thousand years ago. Presently it is a big, academic city with vibrant art life, cultural events, clubs, restaurants, pubs, art galleries, exhibits, and monuments. The town, located halfway between Berlin and Warsaw, offers cultural and intellectual experiences. It is a student-friendly city - every fourth inhabitant of Poznań is a student.

The meeting will be held at the Morasko Campus of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in the building of the Faculty of Physics. I believe this place will be convenient for you. Its surroundings offer a pleasant green space for relaxation and sports facilities and are conveniently connected to various attractive locations in the City.

Conference Topics

The thematic scope of the conference covers a wide range of topics related to issues such as energy, environment, biotechnology, electronics, and optoelectronics. The presentations will focus on the following topics:

  • Dielectric materials for electronics, photonics, and biotechnology: piezoelectrics, pyroelectrics, ferroelectrics, multiferroics, ceramics, polymers, glasses, composites and nanostructures, ionic conductors, 3D printing materials, electrocaloric materials, thermoelectrics, dielectrics for superconducting applications, bioelectrics for environmental applications and bioengineering systems, and metamaterials;

  • Dielectric properties;

  • Polarization phenomena;

  • Electric conductivity;

  • Surface and interfacial phenomena;

  • Measurement techniques: Impedance spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy, Raman and IR spectroscopy, new diagnostic applications for dielectrics, advanced characterization;

  • Modeling and theory;

  • Dielectric devices for biotechnological and industrial applications: electricity storage, supercapacitors, electrostatic capacitors, electrolyzers, batteries.


International Symposium on Dielectric Materials and Applications


This year ISyDMA’7, conference papers will be published in the Special Issue of Phase Transitions (Taylor & Francis Enc.). 

Participants of the Conference are encouraged to present papers to the Special Issue of Phase Transitions edited by Zbigniew Czapla, Andrzej Hilczer, Ewa Markiewicz, and Maria Zdanowska Frączek. 

Authors should prepare their manuscripts in the Phase Transitions format. All submitted articles must be written in English and should report original, previously unpublished research, experimental or theoretical. Detailed information on manuscript preparation can be found on the publisher’s website. Please use the following reference style (see page 6). The length of the papers is limited, to no more than ten printed pages.

Submission of papers will be processed through the Phase Transitions website Deadline of submission: December 6th, 2022.

Please note that the date of the article submission is a lot earlier than the date of the Conference. We want to point out that there is no possibility to submit an article during the Conference!
